State Cost-Share

The Erosion Control and Water Management Program, commonly known as the State Cost-Share Program, was created to provide funds to Soil and Water Conservation Districts to share the cost of systems or practices for erosion control, sedimentation control, or water quality improvements that are designed to protect and improve soil and water resources.  Through the State Cost-Share Program, land occupiers can request financial and technical assistance from their local District for the implementation of conservation practices.

Clean Water Fund Competitive Grant (Clean Water, Land & Legacy Amendment)

The Clean Water Fund was established to implement part of Article XI, Section 15, of the Minnesota Constitution,
with the purpose of protecting, enhancing, and restoring water quality in lakes, rivers, and streams in addition to
protecting ground water and drinking water sources from degradation.

Surface Water Assessment Grant (SWAG)

First funded in 2006 by the Minnesota Legislature, Surface Water Assessment Grants (SWAG) were designated to provide local organizations and citizen volunteers with funds to complete the monitoring needed to meet assessment requirements on Minnesota lakes and streams. Assessment is usually the first step in protecting or restoring surface waters. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) is the agency responsible for administering the grant program.
